i get most of my freeware from terry cavanagh and weird fucking games
loved this truly. truly captured the early ff vibes, really funny, great style, fuckin... supreme ultimate jazz and 80s ass toku/mecha music ost. condor is the character of all time
short surrealist 3d adventure thing. the kind of truly unintelligible design that makes me feel uneasy (positive). despite standard movement and interactivity (surprisingly well-signposted progression, also), it has such little grounding in normalcy i start to feel lost. seasick. i love it. i love that it's so surprising. i think the creator generally works in the sort of modern digital horror scene (they've written scps, done siren head art, etc), which explains the warped textures and willingness to 'jumpscare'. i want to revisit this and see if i can unearth more meaning from it
ok this one is a zine and not a game but it's really funny. 8 pages. what IF your husband was a catfish but like actually a fish and not the modern lying about identity online meaning
yeah. yeah this is right (short manifesto on how good art should be true to one's self - and how that relates to/which includes but is not exclusive to expressions of sexuality) the voyeurism of being a sicko
alpha. traditional roguelike about fighting through a little nudie cat man's psyche. i really like the... oppression, repetition, the desperate survival of a traditional roguelike in a setting about like... the interior made tangible. i'm not sure this is quite There yet - gameplay is a bit rough and overly simplistic, and i think some of the enemy designs are blunt - but it's promising!
bitsy essay about being trans and Performance told through relation to... song from the 2011 muppets movie, man or muppet? not as ridiculous as that sounds though - it's heartfelt and genuine and sad.
new game by the faith guy, a... virtual pet? tiein?? to an upcoming horror movie??? about a girl who finds an egg. it's very cute. i don't think it was particularly scary. i feel like the background graphics conflicted with the virtual pet graphics. i think the default gamespeed was way too slow but i appreciate the attempt
draw a line, it makes a Creature. lovely little toy. very like... when youre 4 and youre drawing in crayon and you make the coolest dragon ever with 8 legs and 3 mouths
whats your FUCKING problem op . 10/10 i couldnt even beat level 3 (hang on. this is the baba is you guy? yeah ok)
little item trade-style puzzler. it's lovely really, i really like this kind of thing 07/06 terry featured this on his blog and called it a 'A rare and welcome throwback to the golden age of Flash puzzle games' which is mega true. its very that. between this and the box eraser game i played later this day i wonder if the japanese webgame scene is currently going through a flash game-styled renaissance
precursor to Rooom. instead of swapping between rooms to align them, you go in and out of different rooms, but it's still a fetch questy item swap style puzzler, and it's still very cute.
surreal thing where you walk around a small torus and talk to some guys who look like you (you are shaped like E.T.). visually interesting with some lovely pixel art, i liked the ui, and i DO love to stroll around a weird world and chat to the inhabitants, but i didn't really vibe with the writing and joke approach. felt kiddy in a... thoughtless, undeveloped tastes way? like... it had an amogus in it. also, it needed an editing pass for commas etc
(title roughly meaning box eraser?) infinitely charming little puzzle platformer where you mouseclick to create platforms and you have to match 4 to remove platforms. smart and clean. 50 levels! i beat them all, but didn't perfect them. op's made a few other little puzzle platformers featuring this little guy, i wanna check em
shoutout to 2009 flash games baby!!! i was 13 when this came out!! a friend mentioned it and i didn't recognise screenshots so i went to armor games to play it and it all came flooding back. that fucking elephant sprite felt like an electric shock. still a really fun little thing and it got a few laughs out of me, 6:47:55 and 35 deaths.
unbelievably hard puzzler from the baba is you guy, kind of boulderdashy* - dig, watch out for falling
things, there are rocks (to be used as platforms), get gems. it's like 20 levels. i had to get alae to
help and we didn't beat it.
(*holy fuck in the first draft i tried to compare it to the net yaroze
rocks'n'diamonds bootleg rocks'n'gems instead? why.)
